Opti-Therm comes with 2 x red microwaveable heat sachets for heat therapy and 2 x blue freezable, malleable cryogel discs for cold therapy.
Heat Therapy
An inadequate tear film in the eye, largely due to dysfunctional oil glands results in a poorly lubricated surface of the eye. This induces inflammation, discomfort, feelings of grit or sand in the eyes, red eyes and blurred vision.
Opti-Therm heats to exactly 42 degrees celsius, the temperature required to melt the meibomian oil in your oil glands.
It only takes 20 seconds in the microwave to heat up the mask with the red heat sachets inside!
Pop the mask on your eyes, lie down or recline comfortably for 10 minutes and enjoy the therapy.
Massage your eyelids through the mask to aid the melting of the meibomian oil.
The heat has a high humidity which is vital! A dry heat will make your problem worse, but Opti-Therm gives you a moist heat with no wetness.
For sinusitis, lower the mask to cover the sinuses under the eyes or slide up onto the forehead.
Repeat morning and evening for maximum effect.
Heat therapy is used for the treatment of dry eyes, Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD) and Blepharitis, grittiness and irritation, inflamed & sore eyes, nasal congestion, sinus headaches and prior to refractive surgery like LASEK/PRK.
Cold Therapy
Placing a cool therapy on the eyes and surrounding areas post an aesthetic or surgical procedure keeps discomfort, swelling and potential bruising to a minimum.
Place the 2 x blue cold packs in the freezer for about 1-2 hours.
When frozen the packs will remain pliable.
Insert these into the eye mask pouches (one or two on each side).
Place the eye mask over the face and adjust the strap to keep it in place.
Lie down or recline comfortably for 10 minutes and enjoy the cold therapy.
Repeat morning and evening for maximum effect.
Cold Therapy is used for the treatment of puffy eyes, brow waxing, cosmetic (eyelid surgery) and other aesthetic procedures.
